Horea Senin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cazimir Gheară came out and tried to block the shot, but Horea Senin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute, one of FCSB CLUJ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FCSB CLUJ. 12 minutes into the match, FCSB CLUJ's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Dică came free, but Calistrat Cârneci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Oltenasii's Gică Teleagă got a free kick in the 14th minute. Cazimir Gheară made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Fabian Șeitan sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, FCSB CLUJ's Cazimir Gheară threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Horea Senin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Ivan Dică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicodim Şantău in the 24th minute of play forced Oltenasii's goalkeeper Cazimir Gheară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cazimir Gheară didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Octavian Morar went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 30 minutes into the match, Oltenasii's Ivan Dică sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Calistrat Cârneci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cazimir Gheară took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodim Şantău, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Oltenasii defense, Fabian Șeitan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cazimir Gheară. The Oltenasii fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cazimir Gheară should have stopped the shot. After 40 minutes, Calistrat Dabija mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCSB CLUJ and the Oltenasii players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FCSB CLUJ's Calistrat Dabija got a free kick in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horea Senin in the 42nd minute of play forced Oltenasii's goalkeeper Cazimir Gheară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Horea Senin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cazimir Gheară saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Horea Senin took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cazimir Gheară. Cazimir Gheară dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Cazimir Gheară came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by FCSB CLUJ's Octavian Morar. But to his dismay, Octavian Morar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Ivan Dică who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Calistrat Cârneci when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 74 minutes into the game, Fabian Șeitan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Cazimir Gheară was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cazimir Gheară showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Șeitan, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute Nicodim Şantău shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cazimir Gheară saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cazimir Gheară took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horea Senin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Oltenasii players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FCSB CLUJ.
