After having played for 3 minutes, Martin Corbea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponoreni SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Corbea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ponoreni SC booed when Ciao-Ciao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Beca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th match minute, Ciao-Ciao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moise Crușeveanu to maneuver through the defense. Constantin Beca scored 1-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nichifor Adomniței, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Ciorogaru in the 32nd minute of play forced Ponoreni SC's goalkeeper Nichifor Adomniței to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Baldovin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Corbea's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Gigel Răduleț fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Adomniței having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Ponoreni SC's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Ciorogaru came free, but Nichifor Adomniței reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Corbea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Ponoreni SC defense, Gigel Răduleț kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nichifor Adomniței. The Ponoreni SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nichifor Adomniței should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Ponoreni SC's zone, Gigel Răduleț stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nichifor Adomniței came out of the goal and Gigel Răduleț tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nichifor Adomniței made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Ciorogaru in the 71st minute of play. Martin Corbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Baldovin having to interfere. Stelian Zbârciog charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stelian Zbârciog the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stelian Zbârciog kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. If Gigel Răduleț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Ciao-Ciao's goalkeeper Sebastian Baldovin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leontin Ghiorman.
