Renașterea Drumul Taberei's Nae Ruşdea quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 19th minute, one of Coroteni CF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Coroteni CF. The referee gave Renașterea Drumul Taberei a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Martin Tirulescu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Coroteni CF's Ivan Boldur. 1-0. In the 25th minute, Nae Ruşdea reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ivan Boldur. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 31st minute, Martin Tirulescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 34 minutes on the clock, Liviu Pelin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Liviu Pelin kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Nechifor Negreanu in the 36th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Grigore Stolojan's left hand side. When Sever Mercescu fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Sever Mercescu hit a great ball. 45 minutes in the game Nae Ruşdea got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Grigore Stolojan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sever Mercescu went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nae Ruşdea was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Renașterea Drumul Taberei's Șerban Stanca got a free kick in the 67th minute. Grigore Stolojan acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nechifor Negreanu. After 78 minutes, Fabian Sălcudeanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Renașterea Drumul Taberei and the Coroteni CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fabian Sălcudeanu hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Renașterea Drumul Taberei defense, Dinu Rizea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Grigore Stolojan. The Renașterea Drumul Taberei fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Grigore Stolojan should have stopped the shot. Nae Ruşdea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ivan Boldur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
