The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sever Mercescu in the 4th minute of play forced Ponoreni SC's goalkeeper Nichifor Adomniței to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Coroteni CF's Luca Răchitan got a free kick in the 8th minute. After having played for 13 minutes, Martin Corbea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponoreni SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Corbea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 19 played minutes Ponoreni SC got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Şoimu. 29 minutes into the game, Coroteni CF's Sever Mercescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nichifor Adomniței made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 37th minute, Dorin Zbârciog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40thth minute of the game Martin Corbea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coroteni CF's Ivan Boldur was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leontin Ghiorman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Ivan Boldur made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Şoimu in the 52nd minute. Denis Gurzău kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Mugurel Vintilă in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Ponoreni SC's Nicolae Ghionaru. Ponoreni SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leontin Ghiorman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Boldur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Viorel Stamatiu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ponoreni SC's Nichifor Adomniței played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Calboreanu in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Mugurel Vintilă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coroteni CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ponoreni SC the free kick. A collision led to Coroteni CF getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Mugurel Vintilă hit a great ball. A hard shot 98 in the game by Emanuel Şoimu from a close distance when the talented Ivan Boldur managed to make a qualified save. Coroteni CF's players were relieved. Ponoreni SC played a much better game than Coroteni CF and deserved their victory. The Coroteni CF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
