The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Narcis Ichimescu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Eliodor Ghionescu to make any attempt to save it. If Ion Stoicescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ion Stoicescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ciprian Petru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Ciceul's Cristian Horațiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliodor Ghionescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Nechifor Lupeanu charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nechifor Lupeanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nechifor Lupeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Narcis Ichimescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Ion Stoicescu made a precise shot to the right of Ciprian Petru. Ciceul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Horațiu in the 33rd minute of play forced ARADI VASAS FC's goalkeeper Eliodor Ghionescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Dumitru Luțu notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ciceul's Ciprian Petru. Ciprian Petru was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41stth minute of the game Dumitru Luțu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ciceul's Ciprian Petru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristian Horațiu was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Narcis Ichimescu in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliodor Ghionescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ciprian Petru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ion Stoicescu in the 85th minute. Dumitru Luțu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Sabău kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narcis Ichimescu in the 90th minute of play forced ARADI VASAS FC's goalkeeper Eliodor Ghionescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliodor Ghionescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Horațiu in the 91st minute of the match. If Narcis Ichimescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Horațiu struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Eliodor Ghionescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciceul.
