The referee ignored Tociloasa UFC's protests and gave Iulian Buzescu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC AAS Bucuresti booed when Tociloasa UFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iulian Buzescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gigel Zberea came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the FC AAS Bucuresti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigel Zberea couldn't finish the play. Toader Diculescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Vulturar in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute Gheorghe Nanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sorin Coman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gheorghe Nanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sorin Coman was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. If Cristi Scorţea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC AAS Bucuresti's Sorin Coman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gheorghe Nanu in the 46th minute of play. Sorin Coman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Nanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The corner ended in Ion Buciuman almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC AAS Bucuresti's Sorin Coman did a great save.
