After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Ştefan Bărbuceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luminis's supporters rose to their feet, but Ştefan Bărbuceanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iustin Ghionescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th match minute, Luminis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Timofte to maneuver through the defense. Ştefan Bărbuceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustin Ghionescu having to interfere. If Alex Oncescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liviu Şiman charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Liviu Şiman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Liviu Şiman hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Olimpiu Ştefănică sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Luminis's Fabian Cârstoiu didn't even have to move. Vintilă Drogoreanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustin Ghionescu having to interfere. Alex Oncescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Fabian Cârstoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ştefan Bărbuceanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iustin Ghionescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ştefan Bărbuceanu's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. With an all-out effort, Luminis's Iustin Ghionescu threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ştefan Bărbuceanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Vintilă Drogoreanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustin Ghionescu having to interfere. Iustin Ghionescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vintilă Drogoreanu in the 72nd minute. If Vintilă Drogoreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ştefan Bărbuceanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute, Vintilă Drogoreanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iustin Ghionescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Vintilă Drogoreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cristi Jucan kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
