FC THERMOSYSTEM's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when George Birișu scored to the left of an out of position Irinel Scutaru, making the score, 1-1. Irinel Scutaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Birișu in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Bălanescu in the 45th minute of play forced FC THERMOSYSTEM's goalkeeper Irinel Scutaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when George Birișu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, FC THERMOSYSTEM's goal looked a bit too open when Laurențiu Bălanescu came free, but Irinel Scutaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC THERMOSYSTEM's zone, Laurențiu Bălanescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Scutaru came out of the goal and Laurențiu Bălanescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, one of FC THERMOSYSTEM:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC THERMOSYSTEM. If Laurențiu Bălanescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Laurențiu Bălanescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dynamo Bucuresti's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurențiu Bălanescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irinel Scutaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cosmin Burca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cosmin Burca got free with Nichifor Achiriloaie in the 100th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dynamo Bucuresti's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
