After 8 minutes, Denis Barbăsură mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pojereni AS and the AFC Catenaccio players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pojereni AS getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Denis Barbăsură hit a great ball. Dorin Găvan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ivan Arghirescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AFC Catenaccio's Ivan Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Ghercioiu in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pojereni AS's goalkeeper Emil Paraschivescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Horea Geambașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Emil Paraschivescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorin Găvan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. AFC Catenaccio's Ivan Arghirescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save AFC Catenaccio from getting a goal against them. Pojereni AS's Ivan Reznic got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horea Geambașu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicodim Cocârlă during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, AFC Catenaccio's Nicodim Cocârlă got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute Denis Barbăsură managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. AFC Catenaccio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Mugurel Cârlan scored to the left of an out of position Ivan Arghirescu, making the score, 1-0. 45 minutes into the game, Mugurel Cârlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pojereni AS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Catenaccio the free kick. Mugurel Cârlan hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The supporters of Pojereni AS booed when AFC Catenaccio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nistor Geangu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Horea Geambașu made the kick off in the second half. Ivan Arghirescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Ghercioiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Ghercioiu in the 63rd minute of play forced AFC Catenaccio's goalkeeper Ivan Arghirescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Pojereni AS's Dorin Găvan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Arghirescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Pojereni AS booed when AFC Catenaccio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Saşca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute Ivan Reznic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Arghirescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 85 minutes, Mugurel Cârlan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pojereni AS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mugurel Cârlan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute Dorin Găvan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Arghirescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Arghirescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Reznic, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Pojereni AS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
