The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th match minute, Pungesti AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Abrudan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Olimpiu Siclovan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 19 minutes, Florin Rareș managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pungesti AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florin Rareș was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pungesti AFC's Bogdan Hosu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nistor Drumeș in the 42nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Florin Rareș kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rareș Podgoreanu. That made the score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play. Olimpiu Siclovan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Rareș Podgoreanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eusebiu Tofan to strike the kick off in the second half. Rareș Podgoreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Siclovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Nistor Drumeș could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Bogdan Hosu however easily saved by the left post. 63 minutes into the game, Pungesti AFC's Florin Rareș nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rareș Podgoreanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Pungesti AFC's Bogdan Hosu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Pungesti AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute, one of Pungesti AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pungesti AFC. The referee gave Stegarii a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Jupâneanu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pungesti AFC's Bogdan Hosu. 2-1.
