After a defensive mix-up in FC THERMOSYSTEM's zone, Mihai Stolnicu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Scutaru came out of the goal and Mihai Stolnicu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Irinel Scutaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihai Stolnicu in the 8th minute of play. Sever Vergulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. FC THERMOSYSTEM's Valentin Dicu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 15th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Octav Burileanu but with some difficulty. After a rather tough play, FC THERMOSYSTEM's Sabin Pană got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute Gavril Buciu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Scutaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Pintea in the 22nd minute of play forced Precupesti CSS's goalkeeper Octav Burileanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Sever Vergulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavril Buciu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Irinel Scutaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute Mihai Stolnicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Scutaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Drâmbă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinu Pintea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Burileanu having to interfere. Dinu Pintea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mihai Stolnicu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Sabin Pană got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cosmin Burca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Burileanu having to interfere. When Sever Vergulescu fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Precupesti CSS's protests and gave Sever Vergulescu a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gavril Buciu got free with Irinel Scutaru in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Octav Burileanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cosmin Burca went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Mihai Stolnicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 76th minute, FC THERMOSYSTEM's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gavril Buciu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 81st minute Dinu Pintea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octav Burileanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octav Burileanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cosmin Burca's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Irinel Şerban during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Cosmin Burca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dinu Pintea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Burileanu having to interfere.
