Nichifor Vintilescu's late challenge caught a Precupesti CSS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nichifor Vintilescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Nichifor Vintilescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Mihai Stolnicu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 21 played minutes Lipanseti-Stiinta- got a freekick which was hit by Alexandru Benga. Mihai Stolnicu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Bocu having to interfere. Octav Burileanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Ostoici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Doru Ciociu fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Precupesti CSS's protests and gave Doru Ciociu a yellow card for diving instead. Gigi Ostoici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Burileanu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Precupesti CSS's Pompiliu Receanu got a free kick in the 44th minute. The attack was good, but when Gigi Ostoici in the 45th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihai Stolnicu was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Mihăiţă Chițac sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lipanseti-Stiinta-'s Albert Bocu didn't even have to move. Lipanseti-Stiinta-'s Albert Bocu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Lipanseti-Stiinta- from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute, Gigi Ostoici ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Octav Burileanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 61 played minutes, Lipanseti-Stiinta-'s Claudiu Codruț shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Octav Burileanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lipanseti-Stiinta- reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigi Ostoici in the 63rd minute of play forced Precupesti CSS's goalkeeper Octav Burileanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sorin Eftimescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Călin Vieru fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lipanseti-Stiinta-'s protests and gave Călin Vieru a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lipanseti-Stiinta- fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! The crowd rose to their feet as Mihai Stolnicu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albert Bocu. That made the score 1-2 in the 95 minute of play. Gigi Ostoici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Burileanu having to interfere. Precupesti CSS played a much better game than Lipanseti-Stiinta- and deserved their victory. The Lipanseti-Stiinta- players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
