Marius Pașcalău charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marius Pașcalău the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th minute, Marius Pașcalău hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuel Suciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristi Hănescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristi Hănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Gorgova's Mihăiţă Honciu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Suciu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gorgova's Mihai Barbă proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Gorgova from getting a goal against them. Viorel Bărănescu hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. When Vali Ştefănucă fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CS Virciorova's protests and gave Vali Ştefănucă a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, CS Virciorova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vali Ştefănucă to maneuver through the defense. Mihăiţă Honciu struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Emanuel Suciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gorgova. Cristi Hănescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emanuel Suciu having to make a save. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of CS Virciorova booed when Gorgova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viorel Bărănescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in CS Virciorova's zone, Mihăiţă Honciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Suciu came out of the goal and Mihăiţă Honciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristi Hănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Suciu having to interfere. Toader Țepeneag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristi Hănescu in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Suciu saved CS Virciorova from getting behind. Emanuel Suciu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristi Hănescu's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Emanuel Suciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristi Hănescu in the 92nd minute of the match. Gorgova's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
