But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilian Onaca couldn't finish the play. 8 minutes into the game, Toader Udroiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Emanuel Suciu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valentin Savu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelian Tiberiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Ion Răchitan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emanuel Suciu. CS Virciorova's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ion Răchitan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Valentin Savu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelian Tiberiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Alchimistul's zone, Aurelian Tiberiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Savu came out of the goal and Aurelian Tiberiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Toader Țepeneag managed to get in a good position for a shot. CS Virciorova's supporters rose to their feet, but Toader Țepeneag was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Savu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute, Ion Răchitan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toader Udroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilian Onaca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Suciu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Toader Udroiu struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Emanuel Suciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alchimistul. CS Virciorova's Emanuel Suciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toader Udroiu in the 37th minute of play. If Aurelian Tiberiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aurelian Tiberiu to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Alchimistul's David Bute got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 55 played minutes CS Virciorova got a freekick which was hit by Robert Ciorobîtcă. In the 57th minute of the match David Bute shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emanuel Suciu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Emilian Onaca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toader Udroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alchimistul's Valentin Savu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelian Tiberiu in the 69th minute of play. Valentin Savu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aurelian Tiberiu went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 72nd minute, Vali Ştefănucă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alchimistul's Valentin Savu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Alchimistul from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, CS Virciorova's Valentin Savu threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marius Pașcalău, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Toader Udroiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toader Udroiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toader Udroiu in the 96th minute of play forced CS Virciorova's goalkeeper Emanuel Suciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Alchimistul had won after a very even match.
