Spectators: 5733 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cristi Hănescu got the match started through his kick off. Felix Vasilică came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Gorgova's Mihăiţă Honciu. But to his dismay, Mihăiţă Honciu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 12 minutes into the game, Ovidiu Mihu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gorgova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cobiuta the free kick. The supporters of Cobiuta booed when Gorgova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ovidiu Mihu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dacian Sucigan charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dacian Sucigan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Francisc Stăniloaie was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 16th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mihai Barbă was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Stelian Romaşcanu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Stelian Romaşcanu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. If Cristi Hănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Viorel Bărănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Mihăiţă Honciu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felix Vasilică was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. If Cătălin Cucerzan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Stelian Romaşcanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stelian Romaşcanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gorgova's Cristi Hănescu got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 47 played minutes, Gorgova's Francisc Plăcintă shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Felix Vasilică came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gorgova reached it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stelian Romaşcanu to make the kick off. Mihăiţă Honciu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Vasilică read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Mihăiţă Honciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristi Hănescu in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felix Vasilică prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 67th minute, Cristi Hănescu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cobiuta's Felix Vasilică proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Cobiuta from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Mihăiţă Honciu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Felix Vasilică. That made the score 1-3 in the 71 minute of play. In the 77th minute of the match, Mihăiţă Honciu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Felix Vasilică was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Cristi Hănescu came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Gorgova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristi Hănescu couldn't finish the play. Felix Vasilică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristi Hănescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihăiţă Honciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Vasilică showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristi Hănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Felix Vasilică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristi Hănescu in the 93rd minute of play. Alin Muncelean hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Dumitru Raţiu, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Gorgova played a much better game than Cobiuta and deserved their victory. The Cobiuta players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
