When Fabian Ţiţeica came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Rifov SC fans jumped to their feet. Pop Impex's Denis Olaru got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Octavian Macovei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorin Ghionea in the 14th minute of play. Octavian Macovei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cătălin Ispas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pop Impex were furious when Traian Miu was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Martin Cămărășan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Octavian Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octavian Macovei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Cămărășan in the 30th minute of the match. Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cătălin Ispas in the 32nd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Pop Impex's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Cămărășan came free, but Octavian Macovei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horea Crainic charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Horea Crainic the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Octavian Macovei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Cămărășan's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Fabian Ţiţeica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Macovei having to interfere. Octavian Macovei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Cămărășan in the 45th minute of the match. Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cătălin Ispas in the 46th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Ispas in the 48th minute of play forced Pop Impex's goalkeeper Octavian Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denis Olaru made a kick off. After 58 played minutes Pop Impex got a freekick which was hit by Augustin Plopan. Pop Impex's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Cătălin Ispas scored to the left of an out of position Octavian Macovei, making the score, 0-2. In the 66th minute, one of Rifov SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rifov SC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Ispas in the 75th minute of play forced Pop Impex's goalkeeper Octavian Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augustin Plopan charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augustin Plopan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Pop Impex's zone, Martin Harhoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Macovei came out of the goal and Martin Harhoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dorin Ghionea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cătălin Ispas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Macovei having to interfere.
