Spectators: 7616 (Terracing: 5749, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 105) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dinu Lupoaia got the match started through his kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristi Gaiță in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Octavian Macovei saved Pop Impex from getting behind. 10 minutes into the game, Dorel Burdujan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Pop Impex's Ionică Vasilian quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience was convinced that Costel Botgros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octavian Macovei was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 16th minute, Dinu Lupoaia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Iliuta FC booed when Pop Impex was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionică Vasilian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinu Lupoaia got his second yellow card in the match during the 31st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 32nd match minute, Pop Impex was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinu Lupoaia to maneuver through the defense. Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristi Gaiță in the 34th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pop Impex's zone, Cristi Gaiță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Macovei came out of the goal and Cristi Gaiță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Cristi Gaiță notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei. Octavian Macovei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 43 minutes into the match, Pop Impex's goal looked a bit too open when Cristi Gaiță came free, but Octavian Macovei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th match minute, Iliuta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorel Burdujan to maneuver through the defense. The Pop Impex players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Iliuta FC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Costel Botgros made a kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Pop Impex's goalkeeper Octavian Macovei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Costel Botgros. After a rather tough play, Pop Impex's Horea Crainic got a free kick in the 65th minute. Octavian Macovei was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Cristi Gaiță capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristi Gaiță really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Cristi Gaiță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Macovei having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pop Impex's zone, Cristi Gaiță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Macovei came out of the goal and Cristi Gaiță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Octavian Macovei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristi Gaiță in the 84th minute of the match. Costel Botgros came free with the goalkeeper in the 85th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Octavian Macovei could save by the left post. In the 93rd minute Cristi Gaiță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Macovei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Codrin Braniște struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Octavian Macovei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iliuta FC. Iliuta FC played a much better game than Pop Impex and deserved their victory. The Pop Impex players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
