Traian Miu hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Iosif Iorgu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Octavian Macovei when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, Pop Impex's goal looked a bit too open when Iurie Dimofte came free, but Octavian Macovei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iosif Iorgu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Octavian Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horea Crainic blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valentin Manu having to make a save. Octavian Macovei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iurie Dimofte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petru Pătrașcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Macovei having to interfere. Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Dimofte in the 36th minute of play. Octavian Macovei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iosif Iorgu in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Paul Cumpanașu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Octavian Macovei. Pop Impex's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paul Cumpanașu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Augustin Plopan charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augustin Plopan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Augustin Plopan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RAPID 1923's Iosif Iorgu got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dinu Lupoaia to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Iosif Iorgu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iurie Dimofte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Octavian Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octavian Macovei came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by RAPID 1923's Iurie Dimofte. But to his dismay, Iurie Dimofte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 62nd minute, Horea Crainic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Pop Impex getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Iordache Mahonea hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Dimofte in the 72nd minute of play forced Pop Impex's goalkeeper Octavian Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Dimofte succeeded in the game's 74th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. Dinu Lupoaia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Manu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. RAPID 1923's Valentin Manu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinu Lupoaia in the 80th minute of play.
