Borussia Brasov's Marian Alungulesei got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Cristinel Ştefulescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iacob Dominte was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iacob Dominte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the match, Cristinel Ştefulescu notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Real Madrid's Iacob Dominte. Iacob Dominte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 30th minute Borussia Brasov were awarded a corner. Cornel Demian went to the cornerflag to take it. Borussia Brasov's Cornel Demian was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Iacob Dominte in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Real Madrid booed when Borussia Brasov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornel Demian didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, one of Borussia Brasov:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Borussia Brasov. The referee gave Real Madrid a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Radu Zamfira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Borussia Brasov's Ivan Hrandabur. 3-1. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusebiu Comăneci was the one to do the kick off. Iacob Dominte was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Real Madrid's zone, Marian Alungulesei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iacob Dominte came out of the goal and Marian Alungulesei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Hrandabur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusebiu Comăneci in the 66th minute of the match. 7-2 became the score in the 66th minute when Eusebiu Comăneci elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Iacob Dominte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Alungulesei, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Marian Alungulesei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Iacob Dominte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marian Alungulesei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Marcu Asachi came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Borussia Brasov fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcu Asachi couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the game, Silviu Stelaru threw the ball into play from the sideline. Borussia Brasov's Stelian Marioteanu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 83rd minute, Marian Alungulesei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute, Cristinel Ştefulescu made a precise shot to the right of Iacob Dominte.
