Spectators: 7598 (Terracing: 5799, Seating: 1749, VIP seats: 50) Steaua București's Horia Ionaș started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Traian Miu fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pop Impex's protests and gave Traian Miu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, Traian Miu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Pop Impex getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Stelian Minulescu hit a great ball. Octavian Macovei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horia Ionaș in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Iosif Mitu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei. Octavian Macovei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Horia Ionaș got in the 17th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Octavian Macovei handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Iosif Mitu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Octavian Macovei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ionică Vasilian fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pop Impex's protests and gave Ionică Vasilian a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Ionică Vasilian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Iosif Mitu made a precise shot to the right of Octavian Macovei. Pop Impex's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Pop Impex's Octavian Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iordache Arnăutu in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Iosif Mitu made a precise shot to the right of Octavian Macovei. Pop Impex's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Octavian Macovei came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Steaua București's Iosif Mitu. But to his dismay, Iosif Mitu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, Steaua București's Cezar Ponor got a free kick in the 39th minute. Octavian Macovei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iosif Mitu went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Toader Ipătescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horia Ionaș in the 56th minute of play forced Pop Impex's goalkeeper Octavian Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Iosif Mitu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Octavian Macovei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horia Ionaș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iosif Mitu got free with Octavian Macovei in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Teodor Pintilescu fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pop Impex's protests and gave Teodor Pintilescu a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Pop Impex got a freekick which was hit by Teodor Pintilescu. Octavian Macovei was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Iosif Mitu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Iosif Mitu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. The crowd rose to their feet as Iosif Mitu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Octavian Macovei. That made the score 0-8 in the 70 minute of play. Octavian Macovei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Ionaș in the 73rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pop Impex's Dinu Lupoaia got a free kick in the 74th minute. Octavian Macovei didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 76th minute, which inside left pole to 0-9. When Iosif Mitu came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Steaua București fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iosif Mitu couldn't finish the play. A throw-in in the 85th minute of the game was made by Dinu Mincu with Iosif Mitu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. A hard shot 86 in the game by Iosif Mitu from a close distance when the talented Octavian Macovei managed to make a qualified save. Pop Impex's players were relieved. After 88th play minutes Iosif Mitu shot 0-10, a short shot which went by Octavian Macovei and just under the crossbar into goal. Horia Ionaș might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavian Macovei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Horia Ionaș ran back to his position shaking his head. The Steaua București fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Steaua București's Iosif Mitu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-11 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Steaua București's Horia Ionaș in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pop Impex's goalie prevented a goal. Steaua București's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
