Corneliu Istrătescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cătălin Ispas's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. The supporters of Rifov SC booed when Spahii CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicodim Udrea didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilian Şoiman couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute of the match Eduard Caraiman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Corneliu Istrătescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 30th minute, Maxim Honciu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Ispas in the 32nd minute of play forced Spahii CSM's goalkeeper Corneliu Istrătescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corneliu Istrătescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Cămărășan in the 33rd minute. After 36 played minutes Spahii CSM got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Honciu. After having played for 40 minutes, Cătălin Ispas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rifov SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cătălin Ispas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Spahii CSM's Corneliu Istrătescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cătălin Ispas in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernest Elefterescu was the one to do the kick off. Ionel Barbălată took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Elefterescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Cătălin Ispas sped through Spahii CSM's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Corneliu Istrătescu. After 73 played minutes Rifov SC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Ţiţeica. Maxim Honciu charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maxim Honciu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
