Horia Ionaș succeeded in the game's 6th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. 9 minutes into the game, Iosif Mitu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emilian Bivolaru. Iosif Mitu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 12th match minute, Croft 1 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabin Bădiță to maneuver through the defense. Emilian Bivolaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Ionaș in the 13th minute of the match. Vali Zorlescu kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Iosif Mitu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Emilian Bivolaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iosif Mitu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 30th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Croft 1's Vali Zorlescu got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilian Bivolaru was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Horia Ionaș capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Horia Ionaș really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florin Răducu to make the kick off. Steaua București's Horia Ionaș got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Cornel Finteșteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Croft 1's zone, Iosif Mitu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emilian Bivolaru came out of the goal and Iosif Mitu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Horia Ionaș sped through Croft 1's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emilian Bivolaru. Iordache Arnăutu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Iordache Arnăutu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua București's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iordache Arnăutu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emilian Bivolaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iosif Mitu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilian Bivolaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horia Ionaș in the 75th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Gogea during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Croft 1 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Gogea to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute Horia Ionaș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Bivolaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Steaua București were the better team. Steaua București's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
