After a defensive mix-up in AC Milan's zone, Emil Ţeica stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nichifor Moțoc came out of the goal and Emil Ţeica tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Cazimir Rădescu got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Constantin Graur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiberiu Seţeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Nichifor Moțoc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute Emil Ţeica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Moțoc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nichifor Moțoc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emil Vlădoiu's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emil Vlădoiu in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nichifor Moțoc saved AC Milan from getting behind. Tiberiu Seţeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Nichifor Moțoc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Progresul Bucuresti's Tiberiu Seţeanu got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Emil Vlădoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emil Vlădoiu to make the kick off. Progresul Bucuresti's Ion Dragnea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Cordescu in the 56th minute of play. Progresul Bucuresti's Emil Vlădoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiberiu Seţeanu charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tiberiu Seţeanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tiberiu Seţeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Tiberiu Cordescu took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ion Dragnea. After 68 minutes, Cazimir Rădescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Milan and the Progresul Bucuresti players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Constantin Graur during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
