Spectators: 7732 (Terracing: 5800, Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 154) Cosmin Nenițescu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Lucian Posteucă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Matei Gârdan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute of the match Varsand got a corner. UTA Arad's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cosmin Nenițescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Varsand were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after UTA Arad's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cosmin Nenițescu took the corner. Varsand's Cosmin Suciu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matei Gârdan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marin Stoicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remus Mândru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matei Gârdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucian Posteucă, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Marin Stoicu was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Remus Mândru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Remus Mândru really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Matei Gârdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosmin Nenițescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute, Cosmin Nenițescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cazimir Dimofte in the 25th minute of play forced Varsand's goalkeeper Marin Stoicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Codruț Blăjan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marin Stoicu. That made the score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Marin Stoicu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silviu Mihuț in the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of UTA Arad booed when Varsand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorel Aaxiniei didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the match, Silviu Mihuț tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marin Stoicu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marin Stoicu came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by UTA Arad's Remus Mândru. But to his dismay, Remus Mândru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Remus Mândru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Varsand:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of UTA Arad:s goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cazimir Dimofte to make the kick off. Varsand's Dorel Aaxiniei got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marin Stoicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Dimofte in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Silviu Mihuț had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marin Stoicu. Varsand's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silviu Mihuț was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Marin Stoicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Dimofte in the 67th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Dorel Aaxiniei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varsand's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorel Aaxiniei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matei Gârdan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucian Posteucă got free with Matei Gârdan in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 78 minutes into the game, UTA Arad's Silviu Mihuț nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marin Stoicu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Matei Gârdan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorel Aaxiniei in the 87th minute. After a rather tough play, Varsand's Valentin Plopeanu got a free kick in the 96th minute. UTA Arad's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
