Spectators: 7728 (Terracing: 5797, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cazimir Dimofte kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd match minute, Varsand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gică Săvoiu to maneuver through the defense. Marin Stoicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Dimofte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Cosmin Nenițescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matei Gârdan was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. In the 8th minute, Lucian Posteucă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucian Posteucă kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 18thth minute. Though ot was a great shot UTA Arad's keeper Matei Gârdan was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Lucian Posteucă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Matei Gârdan made a huge save. Matei Gârdan was a little too slow when Lucian Posteucă got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-0. If Lucian Posteucă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matei Gârdan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosmin Nenițescu in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute, Lucian Posteucă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 played minutes Varsand got a freekick which was hit by Albert Druță. In the 38th minute, Silviu Mihuț left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UTA Arad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Varsand's Marin Stoicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silviu Mihuț in the 44th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cosmin Nenițescu to strike the kick off in the second half. When Cosmin Nenițescu fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varsand's protests and gave Cosmin Nenițescu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Varsand booed when UTA Arad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviu Mihuț didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucian Posteucă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cosmin Nenițescu in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matei Gârdan saved UTA Arad from getting behind. Varsand were furious when Gică Săvoiu was red carded, 70 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to Varsand getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Gică Săvoiu hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute, Cazimir Dimofte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Varsand's Marin Stoicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Varsand from getting a goal against them. Marin Stoicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Mihuț, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. When Cazimir Dimofte came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the UTA Arad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cazimir Dimofte couldn't finish the play. Marin Stoicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Mihuț, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. A collision led to UTA Arad getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Codruț Ciociu hit a great ball. Marin Stoicu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Dimofte in the 92nd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the game, Silviu Mihuț cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Marin Stoicu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
