After 17 minutes of play, Sarafinesti's Cristinel Buda made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horia Tunar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrei Bântu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costin Todoran in the 23rd minute of the match. If Cristinel Buda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costel Patriciu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horia Tunar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Gheorghe Murgan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dersida AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gheorghe Murgan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Liviu Pietreanu fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dersida AFC's protests and gave Liviu Pietreanu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Dersida AFC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Liviu Pietreanu hit a great ball.

Gheorghe Murgan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Andrei Bântu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th match minute, Dersida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Răzvan Condeescu to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the game, Gheorghe Murgan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. In the 71st minute, Gheorghe Murgan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
