A collision led to Tatarus getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Eliodor Poenaru hit a great ball. After 4 played minutes Tatarus got a freekick which was hit by Panait Obregia. Șerban Cândea, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisc Chirilă showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Tatarus's goal looked a bit too open when Ciprian Dersidan came free, but Francisc Chirilă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Ulicioiu's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Dăianu came free, but Horaţiu Dărăscu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horaţiu Dărăscu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Dăianu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Niculae Berbec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Dăianu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horaţiu Dărăscu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. If Sebastian Dăianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Francisc Chirilă came out and tried to block the shot, but Călin Hreapcă slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 86th minute. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tatarus's goalkeeper Francisc Chirilă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ulicioiu eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
