Mihăiţă Istrătescu kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Royal Buzau's zone, Florin Minulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pompiliu Ciociu came out of the goal and Florin Minulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th match minute, Royal Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viorel Covataru to maneuver through the defense. Pompiliu Ciociu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vali Stamate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tociloasa's zone, Vali Stamate stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Mestecăneanu came out of the goal and Vali Stamate tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iacob Pescaru kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Florin Minulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tociloasa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florin Minulescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute Vali Stamate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Mestecăneanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Tociloasa's goal looked a bit too open when Vali Stamate came free, but Bogdan Mestecăneanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pompiliu Ciociu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasile Enășoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 48 minutes Royal Buzau's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vasile Enășoiu who took care of the corner kick. Vasile Enășoiu made a great header on Tociloasa's corner, it was just that Royal Buzau's Pompiliu Ciociu managed to reach the ball for a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Bogdan Mestecăneanu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gelu Bărbat. Pompiliu Ciociu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silviu Paraschiv in the 56th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silviu Paraschiv in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pompiliu Ciociu saved Royal Buzau from getting behind. Pompiliu Ciociu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rareș Tadici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pompiliu Ciociu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silviu Paraschiv in the 64th minute of play. Vali Stamate who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Bogdan Mestecăneanu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 71st minute Silviu Paraschiv shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pompiliu Ciociu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gică Haidău's late challenge caught a Royal Buzau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gică Haidău helped the player get up and apologised. Gică Haidău hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vali Stamate got free with Bogdan Mestecăneanu in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tociloasa's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
