When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Costel Mateescu put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Francisc Ţeica. 41 minutes into the match, YR☆ FCSB's Costel Mateescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisc Ţeica narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Sámuel Szűrös got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costel Mateescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisc Ţeica having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maxim Pop was the one to do the kick off. If Sámuel Szűrös had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costel Mateescu in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisc Ţeica saved Rapid FC from getting behind. Costel Mateescu didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-5 via right post in the game's 61st minute. YR☆ FCSB's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! 68 minutes into the game, Stelian Costin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. YR☆ FCSB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapid FC the free kick. Stelian Costin kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Costel Mateescu got free with Francisc Ţeica in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 97th minute, Augustin Cosoroabă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded YR☆ FCSB left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rapid FC.
