The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Zbughină could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Ilie Dridu made a huge save. In the 4th minute, Iacob Zgabei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute, Basil's Dragoş Elenescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 14th minute, Doru Mercea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narcis Murgescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 20 minutes into the game, Dezesti CF's Doru Mercea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narcis Murgescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 24th minute, Basil's Dinu Opaina seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dinu Opaina the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Basil protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dinu Opaina had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Dinu Opaina kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Gigel Dordea scored 1-3 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Narcis Murgescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Narcis Murgescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doru Mercea, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31stth minute of the game Dragoş Elenescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dezesti CF's Ilie Dridu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doru Mercea in the 33rd minute of play forced Basil's goalkeeper Narcis Murgescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Narcis Murgescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Dordea in the 34th minute of play. Iacob Zgabei took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narcis Murgescu. Narcis Murgescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. After 44 played minutes Basil got a freekick which was hit by Florin Atodiresei. Doru Mercea took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narcis Murgescu. Narcis Murgescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-5.

The wind increased when Dragoş Elenescu made the kick off in the second half. Dragoş Elenescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ilie Dridu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Narcis Murgescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doru Mercea in the 57th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dragoş Elenescu in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ilie Dridu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th match minute, Dezesti CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Oroveanu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Basil's Narcis Murgescu got control of the ball when Iacob Zgabei tried to sneak it across the goal line. Narcis Murgescu was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Iacob Zgabei capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Iacob Zgabei really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. 71 minutes into the match, Basil's goal looked a bit too open when Narcis Crăiță came free, but Narcis Murgescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basil's Narcis Murgescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doru Mercea in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Basil's Florin Atodiresei got a free kick in the 74th minute. Narcis Murgescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Dordea in the 75th minute of play. Narcis Murgescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichifor Ieremia, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Iacob Zgabei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Narcis Murgescu made a huge save. In the 81st minute, Dezesti CF's Doru Mercea dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-8. In the 85th minute Dragoş Elenescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Dridu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Narcis Murgescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigel Dordea, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 95 minutes into the game, Gigel Dordea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-9. Narcis Murgescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Dezesti CF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
