After a rather tough play, Basil's Dragoş Elenescu got a free kick in the 4th minute. After some careless play in the Basil defense, Mihai Sticlaru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narcis Murgescu. The Basil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narcis Murgescu should have stopped the shot. 10 minutes into the game, Avram Tărbac was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Basil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Yep the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Basil fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! In the 12th minute there was a penalty for FC Yep. Ovidiu Albu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Narcis Murgescu. 0-2. 15 minutes into the match, Basil's goal looked a bit too open when Răzvan Bîndean came free, but Narcis Murgescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narcis Murgescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihai Sticlaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute, Eusebiu Vâlceanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Basil! Răzvan Bîndean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Murgescu having to interfere. Narcis Murgescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moise Mustață, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rareș Isărescu during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rareș Isărescu hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moise Mustață made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Răzvan Bîndean in the 51st minute of play forced Basil's goalkeeper Narcis Murgescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Narcis Murgescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Bîndean in the 59th minute of play. Basil's Dragoş Elenescu got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Narcis Murgescu was a little too slow when Mihai Sticlaru got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 1-4. The audience was convinced that Dragoş Elenescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kevin Klaasen was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Mihai Sticlaru took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narcis Murgescu. Narcis Murgescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Moise Mustață succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-6 in the 77th playminute. Basil's Narcis Murgescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Basil from getting a goal against them. After 92 played minutes FC Yep got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Ioanițiu. In the 96th play minute Moise Mustață came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Narcis Murgescu. 1-7. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Yep eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
