The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Valeriu Buzea made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Damian Cârlan sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute, Cornel Ciungu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Hermannstadt fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 20 minutes, Cornel Ciungu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hermannstadt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornel Ciungu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrei Ciucă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Ciungu in the 25th minute of the match. After 28 minutes of play, FC Hermannstadt's Cornel Ciungu made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrei Ciucă was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristide Creangă in the 35th minute of play forced Tautau's goalkeeper Andrei Ciucă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 minutes of play, FC Hermannstadt's Cornel Ciungu made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrei Ciucă was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tautau's Andrei Ciucă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panait Tache in the 40th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Tautau's goal looked a bit too open when Cornel Ciungu came free, but Andrei Ciucă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horaţiu Ispir stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Nicodim Curtean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Andrei Ciucă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cornel Ciungu went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 62nd minute, Nicodim Curtean reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andrei Ciucă. The goal made the score 0-7. Cornel Ciungu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Ciucă having to interfere. Nicodim Curtean blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrei Ciucă having to make a save. In the 69th match minute, Tautau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Pânzariu to maneuver through the defense. Andrei Ciucă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicodim Curtean in the 71st minute of play. Andrei Ciucă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornel Ciungu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the FC Hermannstadt defense, Damian Cârlan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valeriu Buzea. The FC Hermannstadt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valeriu Buzea should have stopped the shot. Andrei Ciucă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodim Curtean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Cornel Ciungu could shoot a difficult shot in the 88th minute, which Andrei Ciucă however easily saved by the left post. After 90 played minutes FC Hermannstadt got a freekick which was hit by Nicodim Curtean. With a little luck, Tautau's Andrei Ciucă got control of the ball when Cornel Ciungu tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over FC Hermannstadt could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tautau throughout the match.
