A collision led to CFR Cluj getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ştefan Oargă hit a great ball. Angelo Urbez was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 21st minute. Halinga's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Denis Constantiniu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Mihăiţă Brumă made a huge save. Mihăiţă Brumă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Ahlroht in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Iurie Bucataru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihăiţă Brumă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CFR Cluj! Mihăiţă Brumă made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Bengt-Arne Ahlroht sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the game, Nechifor Encica recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mihăiţă Brumă. Nechifor Encica showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iurie Bucataru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mihăiţă Brumă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shekwodiza Opeyemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Halinga's Shekwodiza Opeyemi fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Mihăiţă Brumă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shekwodiza Opeyemi went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 57th minute Denis Constantiniu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihăiţă Brumă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, CFR Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Shekwodiza Opeyemi came free, but Mihăiţă Brumă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The CFR Cluj fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mihăiţă Brumă should have stopped the shot. Mihăiţă Brumă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Bucataru in the 78th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iurie Bucataru in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihăiţă Brumă saved CFR Cluj from getting behind. CFR Cluj's Mihăiţă Brumă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Bucataru in the 81st minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, CFR Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Constantiniu came free, but Mihăiţă Brumă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CFR Cluj's Dorel Barboni got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 87 minutes in the game Matei Soare did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Shekwodiza Opeyemi. Mihăiţă Brumă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Halinga's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
