But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Năsturel couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Năsturel in the 9th minute of play forced CFR Cluj's goalkeeper Mihăiţă Brumă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihăiţă Brumă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Năsturel, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Mihăiţă Brumă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurențiu Arghir in the 12th minute of play. Concordia Chiajna's Nicu Secară proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Concordia Chiajna from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute, Dorel Barboni made a precise shot to the right of Nicu Secară. Concordia Chiajna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Nicu Secară came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by CFR Cluj's Dorel Barboni. But to his dismay, Dorel Barboni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 34 minutes into the match, Alin Stănciulaş notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of CFR Cluj's Mihăiţă Brumă. Mihăiţă Brumă was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moise Ştiubei made a kick off. Nicu Secară made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Barboni in the 51st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorel Barboni in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicu Secară prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastian Tarcea hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. A collision led to CFR Cluj getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Traian Pânzaru hit a great ball. In the 61st minute Laurențiu Arghir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihăiţă Brumă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nechifor Zbârciog's late challenge caught a Concordia Chiajna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nechifor Zbârciog helped the player get up and apologised. After 62 played minutes CFR Cluj got a freekick which was hit by Nechifor Zbârciog. When Radu Tatomir fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Concordia Chiajna's protests and gave Radu Tatomir a yellow card for diving instead. Aurelian Blaga kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Dan Năsturels short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Mihăiţă Brumă to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 73rd match minute, CFR Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorel Barboni to maneuver through the defense. Dan Năsturel didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-4 via right post in the game's 76th minute. Concordia Chiajna's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorel Timofte during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dorel Timofte hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Mihăiţă Brumă dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5. Nicu Secară showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Barboni in the 95th minute of the match. Concordia Chiajna played a much better game than CFR Cluj and deserved their victory. The CFR Cluj players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
