Sabin Stănculescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Dabija, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th match minute, CFR Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Dabija to maneuver through the defense. Ferdinand Pădureanu took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mihăiţă Brumă. Sabin Stănculescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Barboni in the 26th minute of the match. Valer Murărașu charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valer Murărașu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sabin Stănculescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Moise Ştiubei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CFR Cluj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moise Ştiubei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of CFR Cluj booed when Fc Barcelona b was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valer Murărașu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorel Barboni might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabin Stănculescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorel Barboni ran back to his position shaking his head. Moise Ştiubei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sabin Stănculescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Fc Barcelona b's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
