Spectators: 6761 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 0) Dezesti CS's Aron Cocea started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of CSMS Iaşi booed when Dezesti CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Măcriș didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Aron Cocea took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Stelian Mardarescu to make any attempt to save it. Stelian Mardarescu made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Sever Apostu sent off a good shot on target. Sever Apostu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Stelian Mardarescu made a huge save. If Aron Cocea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in CSMS Iaşi's zone, Aron Cocea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stelian Mardarescu came out of the goal and Aron Cocea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florin Ignătoiu to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as CSMS Iaşi's Albert Maghiar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ion Dănescu. That made the score 1-1 after 52 minutes of play. Florin Ignătoiu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ion Dănescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Florin Ignătoiu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 57th minute. The audience was convinced that Aron Cocea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stelian Mardarescu was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Aurel Oțeteleșanu's late challenge caught a Dezesti CS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurel Oțeteleșanu helped the player get up and apologised. Aurel Oțeteleșanu kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Ion Dănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florin Ignătoiu in the 76th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Aron Cocea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dezesti CS's supporters rose to their feet, but Aron Cocea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stelian Mardarescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stelian Mardarescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sever Apostu in the 84th minute of play. Dezesti CS's Sever Apostu got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stelian Mardarescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aron Cocea, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The Dezesti CS manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing CSMS Iaşi to win.
