Spectators: 7716 (Terracing: 5788, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Florin Ignătoiu started the match with the kick off. Stelian Mardarescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Bujor in the 5th minute of play. After 7 played minutes CSMS Iaşi got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Calini. CSMS Iaşi's Stelian Mardarescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Bujor in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Cristi Zbârlea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, CSMS Iaşi's goalkeeper Stelian Mardarescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mugurel Vasiliu. After 15 played minutes CSMS Iaşi got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Terzian. In the 16th play minute Mugurel Vasiliu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Stelian Mardarescu. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Bujor in the 20th minute of play forced CSMS Iaşi's goalkeeper Stelian Mardarescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Tineretul Arad's Mugurel Vasiliu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stelian Mardarescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mugurel Vasiliu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Stelian Mardarescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, CSMS Iaşi's goal looked a bit too open when Iustin Dudea came free, but Stelian Mardarescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stelian Mardarescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mugurel Vasiliu went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 46 minutes, Mugurel Vasiliu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tineretul Arad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mugurel Vasiliu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Tineretul Arad's Mugurel Vasiliu got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iustin Dudea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CSMS Iaşi's Stelian Mardarescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Vasiliu in the 59th minute of play. In the 59th match minute, CSMS Iaşi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristi Zbârlea to maneuver through the defense. Iurie Bujor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stelian Mardarescu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugurel Vasiliu in the 62nd minute of play forced CSMS Iaşi's goalkeeper Stelian Mardarescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored CSMS Iaşi's protests and gave Laurențiu Calini a yellow card for diving instead. Stelian Mardarescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Bujor, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After 72 played minutes Tineretul Arad got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Vasiliu. After a defensive mix-up in CSMS Iaşi's zone, Mugurel Vasiliu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stelian Mardarescu came out of the goal and Mugurel Vasiliu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Mugurel Vasiliu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tineretul Arad's supporters rose to their feet, but Mugurel Vasiliu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stelian Mardarescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSMS Iaşi's goalkeeper Stelian Mardarescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Iurie Bujor struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Stelian Mardarescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tineretul Arad. After having played for 81 minutes, Albert Maghiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CSMS Iaşi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albert Maghiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Tineretul Arad getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Emil Cârlan hit a great ball. Stelian Mardarescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustin Dudea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iurie Bujor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Stelian Mardarescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tineretul Arad's supporters rose to their feet, but Iustin Dudea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tineretul Arad fully deserved thier win.
