Vermis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Vointa Sibiu the free kick. In the 19th minute, Panait Văcărescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the game, Vintilă Goicea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cosmin Ilarie. FC Vointa Sibiu's Mihail Daraban played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panait Văcărescu in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Basarab Grama shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosmin Ilarie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vali Tadici hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Vintilă Dordea hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Vintilă Goicea kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Panait Văcărescu to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Vermis defense, Basarab Grama kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cosmin Ilarie. The Vermis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cosmin Ilarie should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avram Bîlbă in the 59th minute of play forced Vermis's goalkeeper Cosmin Ilarie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panait Văcărescu in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihail Daraban prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Vointa Sibiu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ion Aldulea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1.
