Olimpiu Buteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihail Dăianu in the 16th minute of the match. Sorin Zdrobiş was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Alin Pantilimon kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Olimpiu Buteanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horaţiu Neculuță in the 24th minute. 28 minutes into the match, FC Rapid Micesti's goalkeeper Olimpiu Buteanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Șerban Cioacă. Manole Udroiu took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mugur Logofeteanu. Șerban Cioacă might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olimpiu Buteanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Șerban Cioacă ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Gimbas getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Codruț Necula hit a great ball.
