With a left leg Mihai Zegreanu saved CS Botosani BTF from getting behind. A collision led to CS Botosani BTF getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Alex Tarcu hit a great ball. Octav Surdu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Serediu's Eliodor Gruescu got a free kick in the 11th minute. Mihai Ghișe acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 13th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Virgil Şantău. In the 18th match minute, CS Botosani BTF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Bogrea to maneuver through the defense. When Horia Bogrea fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CS Botosani BTF's protests and gave Horia Bogrea a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, CS Botosani BTF's Horia Bogrea got a free kick in the 19th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Mihnea Giurgiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serediu's supporters rose to their feet, but Mihnea Giurgiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihnea Giurgiu couldn't finish the play. Octav Surdu struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Mihai Zegreanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Serediu. After the first half Serediu were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Mihnea Giurgiu got free with Mihai Zegreanu in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 77 played minutes CS Botosani BTF got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Şantău. Octav Surdu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Moise Jienescu's late challenge caught a CS Botosani BTF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moise Jienescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for CS Botosani BTF. Lucian Onaca stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mihai Ghișe. 1-4. Vasile Angheluș charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vasile Angheluș the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 93 minutes into the match, CS Botosani BTF's goalkeeper Mihai Zegreanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Octav Surdu. Anton Negruț kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match.
