The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Ilie Enceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eric Pricop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Tătaru in the 6th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Ilie Enceanu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mugur Burdea to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to FC Ostroveni getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Stelian Sticlaru hit a great ball. Eric Pricop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horia Ciompec, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Valeriu Dragomiroiu notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC Ostroveni's Eric Pricop. Eric Pricop was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dragheasa's goalkeeper Mugur Burdea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Dragheasa's zone, Luca Buricea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mugur Burdea came out of the goal and Luca Buricea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute, Ferdinand Tătaru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eric Pricop was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Ilie Enceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Burdea having to interfere. The supporters of FC Ostroveni booed when Dragheasa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Muncelean didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ilie Enceanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ilie Enceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mugur Burdea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luca Buricea in the 40th minute. When Ferdinand Tătaru came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Dragheasa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinand Tătaru couldn't finish the play. Luca Buricea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Mugur Burdea made a huge save. Ilie Enceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Mugur Burdea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luca Buricea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eric Pricop was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Dragheasa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. 87 minutes into the game, FC Ostroveni's Ilie Enceanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mugur Burdea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Horia Ciompec's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eric Pricop firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 92nd minute, Șerban Şteţ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ilie Enceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Burdea having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Dragheasa left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Ostroveni.
