Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cornel Elenescu got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Oboroceni booed when Brașov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radu Potoroacă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valer Mărăscu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dan Savin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Cornel Elenescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Codruț Balaban. Oboroceni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cornel Elenescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornel Elenescu in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Codruț Balaban saved Oboroceni from getting behind. The supporters of Oboroceni booed when Brașov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cătălin Scutaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cornel Elenescu in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Codruț Balaban prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Brașov's Mihai Gherguț in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Oboroceni's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute, Vali Acatincăi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Codruț Balaban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Elenescu in the 23rd minute of the match. Mihai Gherguț charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mihai Gherguț the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Mugurel Brânzaș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornel Elenescu struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Codruț Balaban didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brașov. Mugurel Brânzaș could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Dan Savin made a huge save. Codruț Balaban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Elenescu in the 40th minute of the match. If Vali Acatincăi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 45th minute Cornel Elenescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Codruț Balaban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vali Acatincăi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oboroceni's Codruț Balaban proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Oboroceni from getting a goal against them. Dan Savin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vali Acatincăi in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56thth minute of the game Cornel Elenescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oboroceni's Codruț Balaban was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Oboroceni's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Cornel Elenescu scored to the left of an out of position Codruț Balaban, making the score, 0-4. Cornel Elenescu's late challenge caught a Oboroceni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cornel Elenescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, Brașov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Elenescu to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Vali Acatincăi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dan Savin was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Mugurel Brânzaș hit a great ball. Codruț Balaban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornel Elenescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihai Gherguț sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute Mihail Grigoroiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Savin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brașov's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
