In the 8th match minute, Fc Forex was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horea Ivasiuc to maneuver through the defense. If Ilie Enceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Luca Buricea came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the FC Ostroveni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luca Buricea couldn't finish the play. Mugur Basarab came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Ostroveni's Luca Buricea. But to his dismay, Luca Buricea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. FC Ostroveni's Ilie Enceanu got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Șerban Şteţ's late challenge caught a Fc Forex's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Șerban Şteţ helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd match minute, FC Ostroveni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Buricea to maneuver through the defense. Eric Pricop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionel Alupoaie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half FC Ostroveni were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luca Buricea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luca Buricea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Basarab having to interfere. The supporters of Fc Forex booed when FC Ostroveni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilie Enceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
