Cătălin Semeghin's late challenge caught a Oboroceni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionel Ghețea got free with Codruț Balaban in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mihail Grigoroiu hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Sever Ispas struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Codruț Balaban didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciorobereni CS. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionel Ghețea got free with Codruț Balaban in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ionel Ghețea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codruț Balaban having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Sever Ispas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciorobereni CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sever Ispas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octavian Amarandei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Oboroceni's protests and gave Mihail Grigoroiu a yellow card for diving instead. Mihail Grigoroiu kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When Sever Ispas came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Ciorobereni CS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sever Ispas couldn't finish the play.
