Dinu Cotuțiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Eric Pricop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ostroveni's goalkeeper Eric Pricop, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivan Strugure showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilie Enceanu in the 12th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, FC Ostroveni's goal looked a bit too open when Iurie Negrescu came free, but Eric Pricop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of FC Ostroveni:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vama Veche ™:s goal. Iurie Negrescu hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Vama Veche ™'s Gică Zoreanu got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gică Zoreanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, FC Ostroveni's goal looked a bit too open when Gică Zoreanu came free, but Eric Pricop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Ostroveni's Eric Pricop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gică Zoreanu in the 39th minute of play. Eric Pricop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinu Cotuțiu in the 40th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Vama Veche ™'s goalkeeper Ivan Strugure had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luca Buricea. In the 44th minute, FC Ostroveni's Luca Buricea ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivan Strugure. Ivan Strugure yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gică Zoreanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Negrescu in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Ostroveni's goalkeeper Eric Pricop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gică Zoreanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Eric Pricop made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Vama Veche ™'s Iurie Negrescu got a free kick in the 69th minute. The supporters of Vama Veche ™ booed when FC Ostroveni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Șerban Şteţ didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Ostroveni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vama Veche ™ the free kick. After 93 played minutes FC Ostroveni got a freekick which was hit by Luca Buricea. After a rather tough play, FC Ostroveni's Eusebiu Beraru got a free kick in the 96th minute. Gică Zoreanu hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Vama Veche ™ played a much better game than FC Ostroveni and deserved their victory. The FC Ostroveni players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
