With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mugurel Mercescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Augustin Mirciu charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augustin Mirciu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dunarea CS's Mugurel Mercescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Brașov's Cornel Elenescu in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mugurel Mercescu. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornel Elenescu in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mugurel Mercescu saved Dunarea CS from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 9-0.

The wind increased when Cornel Elenescu made the kick off in the second half. If Damian Tudose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. Mugurel Mercescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihai Gherguț in the 57th minute of the match. Mugurel Mercescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mihai Gherguț's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Mihai Gherguț fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugurel Mercescu having to interfere. In the 79thth minute of the game Cornel Elenescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dunarea CS's Mugurel Mercescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Brașov's Cornel Elenescu in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 84 minutes of play, Brașov's Mihai Gherguț made it 13-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mugurel Mercescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mugurel Mercescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihai Gherguț, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute Mihai Gherguț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugurel Mercescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91stth minute of the game Mihai Gherguț who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dunarea CS's Mugurel Mercescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dan Savin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Grigore Calciu in the 92nd minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Brașov fully deserved thier win.
