Sever Ispas started the match with the kick off. Ionel Ghețea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugurel Mercescu having to interfere. Silviu Vizitiu charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silviu Vizitiu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Silviu Vizitiu kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Sever Ispas succeeded in the game's 6th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Ionel Ghețea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugurel Mercescu having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sever Ispas in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mugurel Mercescu saved Dunarea CS from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Dunarea CS's Augustin Mirciu got a free kick in the 25th minute. Mugurel Mercescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sever Ispas, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. A collision led to Ciorobereni CS getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Dumitru Șerbulescu hit a great ball. Grigore Calciu struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Eric Ştoia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dunarea CS. Eric Ştoia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Zorlescu in the 36th minute of the match. If Sever Ispas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Zorlescu made a kick off. Dunarea CS's Mugurel Mercescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Dunarea CS from getting a goal against them. When Sever Ispas came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Ciorobereni CS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sever Ispas couldn't finish the play. Dunarea CS were furious when Manuel Ciomag was red carded, 67 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave Ciorobereni CS a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Petruț Ţintea, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Dunarea CS's Mugurel Mercescu. 0-3. 74 minutes into the match, Ciorobereni CS's Ionel Ghețea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mugurel Mercescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 78th match minute, Dunarea CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augustin Mirciu to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Ciorobereni CS's Sever Ispas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mugurel Mercescu. That made the score 0-4 after 79 minutes of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Ionel Ghețea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciorobereni CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionel Ghețea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grigore Calciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
