Eusebiu Mareș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Răzvan Nițisor in the 41st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, Nastase's Octav Iorgulescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Remus Carabulea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After the first half Nastase were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mihail Stegaru made a kick off. If Octav Iorgulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octav Iorgulescu in the 95th minute of play forced Village Superstars C.F.'s goalkeeper Remus Carabulea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite being the better team, Nastase failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
