The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucrețiu Bădescu got free with Iulian Urducea in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute Gheorghe Gagiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iulian Urducea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurel Ciocoiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th match minute, Steaua Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leontin Ghionaru to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute Ernest Maniu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iulian Urducea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurel Ciocoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Phoenix Seini -MM-'s Lucrețiu Bădescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iulian Urducea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. The supporters of Phoenix Seini -MM- booed when Steaua Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Popeangă didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Felix Zdrăilă sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iulian Urducea skillfully saved the ball. Aurel Ciocoiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristi Avădanei having to make a save. Iulian Urducea came out of the goal and Ernest Maniu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Ciocoiu in the 81st minute of play forced Phoenix Seini -MM-'s goalkeeper Cristi Avădanei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phoenix Seini -MM- were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Steaua Bucuresti for a fine match.
