An unexpectedly hard shot by Călin Boltașu in the 9th minute of play forced CFR Cluj MZ's goalkeeper Cătălin Pancu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Avantul Grindu's Irinel Cozac dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Irinel Cozac during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mihnea Hăulică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihnea Hăulică received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Vlad Fânaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When CFR Cluj MZ's Augustin Oprișor in 25 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Cătălin Pancu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liviu Gruescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Cătălin Pancu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liviu Gruescu in the 58th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Liviu Gruescu in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cătălin Pancu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 66 minutes into the match, CFR Cluj MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Gruescu came free, but Cătălin Pancu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Liviu Gruescu took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cătălin Pancu. Cătălin Pancu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. In the 74th minute Călin Boltașu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cătălin Pancu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liviu Gruescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irinel Cozac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cătălin Pancu having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Călin Boltașu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cătălin Pancu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Călin Boltașu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute, Manuel Blajovici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. CFR Cluj MZ's Gigi Donecea shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 96th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vlad Fânaru but with some difficulty.
